Sandra Freire holds a PhD in Chemistry (2014) from the University of Aveiro and a Master's Degree in Analytical Chemistry (2003) from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV), teaching graduate courses in General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Quality Control. Between 2022 and 2024, she was Vice-rector for Teaching, Training and Pedagogical Innovation at the University of Cabo Verde. Dr Freire has experience in the chemical characterisation of atmospheric aerosols and she has participated in and co-organised several fieldwork studies in projects related to aerosol characterisation, including the DUSTRISK, ELEVAR2030, AMBIEnCE, ORGANOSOL and CN-linkAIR projects. In 2021, Dr Freire was a visiting scientist at TROPOS, Germany, for 3 months.
